Group Members: David Young, Maeve Woeltje, Paras Vora
Current status of project:
Our team has determined to focus on the use of eye tracking technology either as a therapy to improve eye coordination or an academic aid device. The exact focus of the project will be determined after meeting with the client and mentor, Dr. Barbour. We have acquired eye-tracking hardware as a development kit from EyeTribe. We have tested the hardware and the provided SDK, calibrated the device and have begun exploring its functionality. We have established a developer environment and selected Java as our language of choice. Currently, we are working on research in the two areas of focus that we are considering. We are looking at current methods of Orthopic Visual Therapy and common approaches of using eye tracking devices to interface with computers.
Work planned for next week:
Over the course of the next week, we plan on continuing our research on the current uses of eye tracking devices. We will use this research to fully define our project scope. Furthermore, we will become better acquainted with the SDK. The individual team tasks are laid out as followed:

All:
- Become acquainted with the Eye Tribe Developer’s Guide, the SDK and the Java API
- Continue research
- Meet with Dr. Barbour to define our scope
- Create project timeline coordinated with class calendar

- Create a code repository
- Contact ophthalmologists about current treatments – their strengths and weaknesses
Anything needed from client or TA or instructor to continue work:
